1990 Started racing
at Texas Raceway in Kennedale, Texas. (one of the toughest little tracks in the
country)
I campaigned several types of cars from 1990 to 2003. The wildest ride was a vintage front engine dragster with a 396 injected on alcohol. The motor wasn't that big but I was only 20 years old and it was fast for me at that time. Best E.T. with that car was 5.95 at 119mph. I also ran a fiat altered that really shouldn't have been on the track. Ha Ha. I graduated from the open wheel type vehicles and went to my favorite kind...... DOORSLAMMERS!!!!! My first one was a 78 Camaro that wasn't real fast but was deadly consistent. That is where I really got hooked. My dad then aquired a 67 Nova with a 355 cu inch motor.. it was with this car that I learned how to stay in the gas with the wheels high in the air. If she is straight stay in her, if not get out of it and limp it home. In 1996 my dad and I aquired our favorite ol buggy(1980 monza) so far. This car was found in Waco Texas by a friend of ours and when we went to look at it we thought , lord please let there be something bad wrong with this car!! ha ha. As it turned out there was nothing wrong with it and we drug it home, only to start on a path of orneriness and pillaging. We eventually ended up running with the Texas Pro Stock Association. These guys were a real class bunch and they had some fast cars. We were limited in cubic inches and had to run conventional heads and automatics. The races were run on a heads up bases off of a 4 tenths tree. We ran pretty good with the buggy but just couldn't pull off any miracles with it. With the Monza I competed in the Texas Musclecar Club Challenge Series finishing in the Top Ten in points every year that I competed with them. 1997- 2003.
Presently I am employed as a service manager for Icee Distibutors of East Texas. I have since purchased an Oldsombile Cutlass that I plan to run in Super Street here in Div. 4. I will eventually hope to compete in Comp with an A Altered Automatic. That is my goal.
